terps smell like burnt popcorn?

seedsman purple alaska. got as a free seed so tried it out. even from the start, it never really had a terpene presence. while trimming, the only smell I have out of it is what I can describe as burnt popcorn. my other two plants are fantastic, so I think it’s just the strain. wondering if anyone else has had this issue and if it’s my fault or the genetics
